Aloha NABF Members!

I wanted to remind you to book your travel for the 2019 NABF Convention at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in sunny Honolulu, Hawaii.  Now that we are into 2019 and past the holiday season, people are starting to book their summer travel, and the available flights – as well rooms beyond our contractual allotment – are filling up.

Duane Ford, Chuck Williams, and I will be in Hawaii in late February for pre-convention planning meetings, and we hope to address the possible addition of more rooms to our allotment at that time.  After we return, I hope to be able to circulate some photos of the property and highlight some of the many things to do on Waikiki Beach.  I wanted to get this quick reminder out now, though, before airfares peak, mileage award availability disappears and/or our allotment of rooms at the fantastic rates we have secured is exhausted.

Here are links to the NABF Convention page (which has all the registration details) and summary/instructions/link to the PassKey system:

Below is the tentative agenda for this year’s convention.

Because of our resort location, we are limiting our meetings to the mornings, allowing our members more time to get out and enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer – we didn’t want you to travel all the way to Hawaii only to be stuck in meetings rooms all day!  We have scheduled our Ratings Committee meeting to Friday so that promoters, managers and others in attendance can be present and provide input.

Although we will not be able to provide a hospitality suite this year, we are hosting a cocktail party every evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., so our members can explore Hawaii, come back to the hotel and share some cocktails and meet for dinner plans.

Please note that, despite the arrival and departure dates below, the hotel has provided us with an additional allotment of rooms at the NABF Convention rates for three (3) days before AND three (3) days after our actual convention dates so that you can extend your Hawaiian adventure.

Finally, the convention is not limited to NABF members.  Any and all officials, promoters, management, trainers, press, friends, family and boxing fans are invited to attend and enjoy our seminars.  We received fantastic feedback from Reno, and we hope to have even better seminars this year!
