February 19, 2021 -NABF ……..“Thank you first responders”

As President of the North American Boxing Federation I wish to reach out to our membership and dear friends and let you know that the North American Boxing Federation is well and we are positive about our future.  Because of COVID we have misplaced our communication with one another.  This past year has truly been dreadful and lonely for all of us.  I have honestly missed being able to hold our annual Convention and seeing and enjoying our NABF Family.

We want all of you to know that we want to hold a convention during 2021, however this would only occur if the pandemic protocols will allow.  We are putting plans in place wherein we can act quickly to hold a convention in a City that can be accessed quickly by all.  This said we will not interfere with our World Boxing Councils’ anticipated Convention scheduled for Bangkok Thailand November 8 – 12, 2021.  Therefore we are watching for cities to open up that would allow us to meet together again.

I want to reach out to those who have lost family members and friends to this dreadful pandemic. My thoughts are to be able to remember all of those family members and friends who have passed in some way at our next convention.  Therefore, I would ask you to send their names, where they were from, and the date of their birth along with the date of their passing.  Please send this information to me at… This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  This way we will be able to have some type of tribute to each name sent to me.

Lastly, thank you to those first responders who have taken care of those inflicted by this pandemic, many have given their own lives in caring for those who were ill.  This is the “Year of Boxing”   because of this the NABF will continue to express our love and appreciation for those of you in boxing have and are reaching out to help others.

I look forward to the day we can gather and be with each other.  In the meantime, please be safe, be happy and be caring.

Duane Ford

President
